Day 55.5 - People are Dicks in These Foolish Things

Head Cat had to reschedule my weekly meeting with me for some bullshit reason, so it was rescheduled to 4:30pm today. The man/diva is never, ever, EVER on time and I knew the meeting would run over, so I just planned to work a little later anyway. No biggie…

But I had a feeling. And I was right. No show.

So now I have to recap everything I was going to talk with him about and put it all together into proposals and emails, and I don’t feel like it right now. It’s 5pm anyway. I’m going to write another entry for today since my previous entry made me feel some kind of way, anyway.

Let’s cover it up with this.

Have you seen the viral video of the town hall meeting in Coeur d’Alene where the woman was forcibly removed for expressing her opinion at a TOWN HALL meeting? Isn’t that what a town hall meeting is for?? To express your opinions about various topics that are affecting the town and its population? The guy running the meeting essentially told anyone who disagreed with him to STFU, and she was like WTF?

And some rando dudes grabbed her and physically PULLED her out of the meeting? And she was like…WHO the FUCK are YOU?!! She asked to see their badges and they ignored her and kept grabbing her and pulling her and they physically picked her up and carried her out?

And NOBODY HELPED HER!

This is so frightening and reminds me of biblical stories of getting stoned to death for standing up for one’s beliefs.

This is America.

It’s so frightening and people now think that it’s okay to be jackasses because that’s what our “leader” is/does. People look to their leaders to see what actions are okay. Like, who’s to say what’s actually right and wrong? What’s good and bad?

So many people…most people…just want to be told what to do and how to do it. I know it’s not that simple, but it kinda is.

And most people look to leadership - whatever leadership is out there - to guide their actions. Especially in business. We want and NEED a business plan in order to be successful! We need to organize, but we also need guidance from the top down.

And if the actions of our leaders is chaos and dickishness, then guess what?

The people will follow.

And if the leadership doesn’t know WTF they are doing, it’s going to be so much worse than just chaos.

What happens without a real leader? If the person/people at the top are not really leaders and they are also dicks?

This applies to business and life in general.
