Breastfeeding in The REAL Baby Journey!

I’ve been pumping every 2-3 hours & getting a few more drops each time. Something is happening in there! I did one of my overnight pumping sessions from 3-330 & then was woken up by my nurse at 430 saying the NICU RN called down to say Leah was squawking & could I come up?

So up there I happily ran & we did skin to skin for 30 min & I was able to express 8-10 drops & she ate like a champ!! A very strong suck & great rooting reflex & I felt such a strong rush of love & pride & warmth & happiness. I know I’m still riding my hormones & endorphins but I’ll take it. After how stressful the last 7 months have been, all of this is such a surprising & welcome change. She is holding her temp well & obviously eating/swallowing as well as I can provide for her & those are two huge benchmarks to her getting to come home. Grow baby Leah, grow!
