I am no good at writing long form narrative entries anymore. I have been trying to catch up since October with no luck. So, I decided on a short form narrative with just one subject (flexible) per entry.

Been sick all year. How many times do you get to say that? And I am not even in the victim class.

Came down with something that seemed to be norovirus. Except I couldn’t shake it.

Explosive decompression from both ends with no warning. Good times at work when you are on the opposite side of the building from the head.

Two weeks, three weeks until I finally started calling out from work and trying to get a doctor’s appointment – which is increasingly more difficult in this day and age.

Finally, I make it in to see one of my PCP’s PAs.

Uneventful, ordered labs and test. I make it home and get a call from the doc’s office: “You need to go to the emergency room now.”

Into the ER and hospital for 3 days. Severy low sodium, severely dehydrated.

So three days of IVs and blood draws every half hour.

They finally cut me loose. I have a CT scan and an abdominal ultrasound. Everything normal.

At this rate I am going to live forever – the drawback is I am not sure I want to live forever feeling like this. Every type of scan and bloodwork is normal and I still have symptoms that sound like norovirus.

I keep thinking – if I get bad news I’ll work for a couple of more months while I sell everything including the condo.

Buy a class C RV and hit the road. There are a lot of places in this country I would like to see again – at a much slower pace.

The beaches between Coronado and Imperial beach. Cliffside Park on NAS Whidbey – overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Any river in Montana – maybe learn to catch rainbow trout.

Key Largo or any of the keys for that matter. The EA-6B static displays scattered all over the county.

Stop by Tucson for dinner on your way to Coronado!
Arizona seems to have escaped norovirus.
The last time I was in PNW for Christmas in 2019 I got norovirus three times in a month.

I hope they can figure it out
