Haha.
So today I made a quad batch of banana bread. One pan is walnuts the other does not.
a double batch of apple crumble bread, Muffin recipe but in bread form because muffin tins suck to clean ( even though mine are silicone) It takes longer to make a lot of muffins then throw a few sheet pans in the oven.
1 batch of chewy cereal granola bars ( I opted out of so many differnt nuts and instead used rice crispy and honey nut cheerios with oats. Then added in the M&Ms.
An overly full pan of M&M cookie bars. I should have done two pans. We will see how that turns out. They may be dried out AND under cooked in one lmao.
I had to dance around the mother in law for the first quarter of it seeing she got up and decided to make sausage patties and eggs for the kids. So we did the kitchen tango. But all worked out.
I did it in under 2 hours ( minus baking time of course, those four sheet pans are going to take a bit!)
I did a lot of grocery shopping, 3 stores and come home to realize im out of flour. Sadness. Back to walmart Ill go.
Tomorrow, honey almond granola ( half batch for tony) Cinnamon raisin bread. And we will see what else. I used up all the bananas and apples as planned. I still have half a bag of mini M&Ms and i CRAMMED those things FULL!
Sunday.
I got up and used up the last of my flour to make 2 quad batches of boule recipe bread.
4 will be plain. Ill divide them and maybe freeze some of the dough? It freezes well. I added a bit of butter and some extra sugar and salt to the dough. It was really plain where it was plain, like it was missing. T puts more sugar then a half a teaspoon to feed the yeast in his sandwich bread. So I added maybe quarter cup. and some more salt. He also adds egg. But i didnt do that.
4 are cinnamon based, I went rouge as Tony calls it. Who needs a recipe... Not me..
I added some butter, cinnamon, nutmeg ( The powdered was FRESH AND STRONG! YESS) Vanilla of course and some sugar. Then I added extra flour to combat the extra liquids. I made two pans, one for apples, one for raisins. They are all raising in the oven on their first 2 hour raise cycle.
The ones last night turned out interesting. SO I folded in raw garlic. Yeah that was derpy. I should have sauted my garlic in olive oil or butter. So it had pockets of tart garlic. Which the kids actually loved ( all but A) which is fine. T said it was like sourdough and he liked that. So next time, I may mix it all in together with some garlic juice to make him a sourdough ish loaf of bread! Ideas ideas. BUT I used the last of my all purpose flour on the two batches I made.
I could seriously go in and make a few more batches. God im a nutter.
The kids already ate an entire pan of Apple cinnamon bread, half a pan of the banana. Over half the garlic rolls, And dug into the cookie bars.
It never lasts long. I wonder about doing a mid week cooking. I could do some bread stuff before work. Let it rise all day then cook after work?
Or go back to my original idea of making a pre made "quick bread mix" that I just add in liquids and fruit to make them mid week. Not that banana bread takes much time. Mashing bananas is half the prep, But i do freeze those too...
Ideas ideas.
Every step gets me one closer to the person Ive been trying to be for so long... Im not sure if ill ever be her. But im liking this person too. Mostly. Except the tiredness. But thats not because I bake. The baking is my mental release.
