Day 30 - The Knock on the Door in These Foolish Things

I had a dream last night that someone knocked LOUDLY on my door in the middle of the night. In my dream, I was living in my old Treehouse (the place where I lived before I moved to my current place). It startled me, and I woke up.

I was in that state between dream and reality, when it struck me - maybe that was someone actually knocking loudly in REAL life?

And that scared me for real.

Because, remember the Machete Man? The guy walking around my complex, knocking on windows with a machete? They only gave him a verbal warning and let the guy go. I know that there are people living in tents in the park next to me. I’ve seen the tents and other evidence.

It was 1:30am. What if he or some other bogeyman was out there, knocking loudly on my door??

It was also raining really hard, and I was thinking that maybe the bogeyman wanted in from the rain outside and wanted to hold me hostage and force me to feed them and do unspeakable things and otherwise torture me before killing me.

THESE WERE MY ACTUAL, TERRIFIED THOUGHTS!

I couldn’t get back to sleep. Just laid awake for a couple of hours.

And now I’m off my schedule. I’m sitting at my work desk and still need to get to my workout and dog walk (it’s still raining really hard!), so I need to get going, but the dream knock is going to haunt me all day.

Gotta get it together!
