Holey... another busy day.
I had four different deliveries today all arrive on the same day, but as I write this, I'm in my new bed! It's been 17 years since I had a new bed, and this one has a bedhead that I can rest against and write entries, so yay! Anyway, I still need to reconfigure my room a little, as it's a Queen size bed which just fits but it doesn't leave much room for my TV, so that either means the TV and stand have to go (both probably out of date anyway) or I try and come up with a solution for those too. Unfortunately, I can't fit onto a double bed, as I am too tall, so a Queen it is. Assembling it was fun. There was a stage where I couldn't get one of the connections to fit, but after jumping up and down on the side frames a few times with my arse, they finally connected in. The bed-frame arrived last, annoying, and I knew I had to put that together before I could even think about being the mattress into my room, so I had to make a pathway through the small apartment. There were boxes everywhere, and rubbish everywhere. The washing machine arrived and I managed to install that too. The bookshelf I am having trouble with, as the numbers clearly don't match the instructions very well, but hopefully I can recify that tomorrow. The only one I haven't started is the TV entertainment unit, which may or may not be a bitch, but the main thing is that the bed-frame and mattress are done and I don't have to sleep on an air mattress anymore! I get a 100 day free trial with this mattress, and if I don't like it, I get a full refund and they donate the mattress to charity.
It was sticking hot today, again. So much so that even in the air-con, I was sweating assembling all my deliveries. But I had to go outside to clear away all my rubbish from the balcony, as well as to get my mattress, which I'd put out there while assembling the frame. I'm glad I got it in on time, because a hail-storm came over. I brought in the glass top from the outdoor setting table, just in case it got smashed.
I got a message from my old property manager saying that the new owners are complaining about an odour in the apartment they bought. Not my problem, biatches! No, just kidding. I replied that I hadn't noticed anything but pointed out that I had when I first moved in but that it went away when the dishwasher got replaced. I had the receipts from the exact days that and the air conditioners were cleaned, so I've done all I can do to help out. I'm assuming a kitchen drain probably just needs a cleanout. They still have our bond, so I guess they could charge us for that? I dunno. Either way, we got paid our incentives for having to move from that place early, so that's good. Part of that went into my new bed, and my mum offered to pay for a new washing machine, so got that too! I'm glad I didn't try to move the old one.
I'm gradually making a house a home :)
