I’m easing into the day this morning, enjoying my coffee and reading a few entries. I’ll do my workout in a bit, shower, and then figure out how many layers I need to put on in order to stay warm today. IT’S SO COLD HERE!! I think it’s cold everywhere in the country. All of the schools in the area are already closed tomorrow in anticipation of the winter weather we’re supposed to get overnight tonight - snow, wintry mix, etc… ugh.

My 75 Hard programs continue - both the physical/mental one and the vintage/pre-loved one. I am having so much fun and continuing to get healthier (and more “vintage”, heh) by the day. 20 days in and I’ve lost 3.5 of the 5 lbs. gained over the holidays.

Has anybody tried supplementing with creatine powder? It’s supposed to help your muscles grow, build strength and stamina, as well as other positive effects for women - especially post-menopausal. I’ve taken it for a week now. So far so good. They say creatine supplements will make you gain water weight, but I’m not seeing that right now. I’ll keep you posted.

What I AM noticing since starting to take creatine, is very, very VIVID dreams! I won’t bore you with the subject matters, but WOW! I kind of dig it. I did some Google research on this, and yep - vivid dreams are a thing with creatine. There are some who say they get terrible nightmares. Mine have been more bizarre than nightmares, and I actually like remembering my dreams and analyzing them, so this has been interesting to me.

Trying not to eat wheat and refined/added sugars - it’s not easy because I loooovvvveeedd my sourdough bread (yes, I know I can find rye and other grains in sourdough bread, but haven’t yet found a good one at my local groceries). I did find a super expensive wheat/gluten-free loaf at my local store, but it’s tiny and it is not great. I’ll still eat it, though. I love eggs on toast.

Making my butternut squash soup today. Do you know how hard it is to cut up a butternut squash? I have two. I chopped one last night, and took out the seeds for roasting and actually got so tired of chopping and trying to peel that I gave up chopping the second one and went to bed - ha!! Finally, this morning, I asked Alexa to show me how to chop a butternut squash, and found one where you chop off the ends and then microwave the squash for 3.5 minutes so the peel is easy to get off with a simple potato peeler. Excited to try this in a bit…

Got my dining room table all clear and clean and I feel so much better. But I still have my closet to conquer, so I think I’ll close for now so I can get on with my day off.

I will likely keep the TV on in the background today while my nesting continues. That is, until I get annoyed with the presidential bullshit.

Until then, stay warm!

xox,
GS
