enjoying that I just now got the hearing notice in the mail. So FIL probably would have gotten it today, or maybe will get it tomorrow.
Which leaves him exactly 2 non-weekend days to prepare or find a lawyer.
Just an aside- It said it was mailed on Thursday last week. That is 6 DAYS. To go from about 1 mile away to my house. USPS is a joke.

In my preparation I decided to create exhibits for the emails, and just redact our kids names. From what I’ve learned from the all-knowing interwebz, these won’t be entered into the public record and only those people transcribing or paying for a court script will have access to the full record. It IS public, buuut, not exactly easily accessible if one isn’t looking for specific information on my case.
I’m feeling as prepared as I can be. I have my statement and witness statement notarized, the email evidence, made copies and made a Judge and a Respondent packet. I also have my originals, the Petition, and all the Orders in a packet for myself. I’m going to put together a Court Day note taking sheet so I can be on-the-ball day of, and have my resources handy if/when I need to support my case. I am feeling pretty nervous about my witness (my husband, lol). He’s not very dependable and has obviously betrayed me before. I’m still on the fence about bringing him along to be cross-examined. It’s a toss up that FIL will even be there, but if he is, he will want to cross-examine hubby (his son) to try to make it look like FIL was invited by hubby- to stalk, follow, and yell at me, though? Idk. His case seems indefensible to me but I have been around liars and sadists long enough to know they will absolutely plow down anything decent to get what they want.
And enjoy doing it.

I try to remind myself that evil people don’t worry about these things, and therefore my worrying about them is a distinct fatal weakness. Why should I be concerned? Well.. my concern is that the PPO will be denied and this will ultimately embolden FIL and encourage worsened or escalated behavior. What would I do, then? Well I could definitely move… lol. In fact I want to move and do intend to move, very soon. So in reality the PPO will be effective only temporarily. But it would bring me some peace while we’re stuck here.
