Day 3 - Visualize! in These Foolish Things

Hey! Did you know that it’s actually Friday today? I know that our clocks get all messed up during the holidays. Most people are still on vacation and won’t get back to business until Monday. That’s January 6th - already DEEP into January!

I love, love, love my morning routine, and I love when I add journaling in the morning as well. I do need to figure out how to keep this in my morning routine. It doesn’t really work for me before work, but it seems to work out well for me when I’m sitting down at my computer to actually work. I seem to use PB as a palette cleanser between tasks.

My entries don’t have to be long and drawn out, though sometimes they tend to be when I think of a story like yesterday.

And by the way, thank you for your thoughts and comments on my NYE situation with C (previous entry). I’ve thought a lot about boundaries and the fact that I should have just said, “nah…another time, bud” at the point when I could see he was going to be ridiculously late.

That said, I’ve now decided to go see my dad for his birthday tomorrow (Saturday). I may shoot C. a text telling him a time and place and if he wants to show, he can…though he’ll have to drive 3 hours to meet us!

Listen to my plans for this weekend:
Saturday:
* Drop Martini off at daycare as soon as they open - 7am on the dot!
* Drive 3 hours to the massive flea market that only happens once a month and is 30 minutes from my parents’ place
* Cruise the market for vintage items for an hour
* Drive to mom and dad’s for lunch
* Birthday lunch for dad
* Drive 3 hours back
* Pick up Martini at daycare before closing - 8pm

Sunday:
* Drop Martini off at daycare
* Volunteer downtown with the thrift organization (bring some donations)
* Go to Pickleball New Years Party - 4 hours of pickleball meet and greets, lessons and playing
* Pick up Martini at daycare
* Prep for Monday
* CRASH!

I don’t think I could pack my weekend any fuller (is that a word?). I’m looking forward to it! I’m energized but also planning on being 100% depleted by the end of it.

I’m also working on visualizing my next career move. I know, I know…this is something that I talk about on the regular, but I do need to get moving to a place that’s going to offer me stability until I get myself to retirement. You know how shitty my current company is with regards to medical insurance (just AWFUL and the cost went UP again! I pay as much with this company as I did for COBRA when I was unemployed! And I have bills upon bills stacked up - I do every fucking month), and again, there’s NO retirement savings (401k).

I did hear that I’ll be getting a small bonus this month, so that’s good news, but it’s only going to barely make a dent in my medical bill situation. Still, I’m not complaining about a bonus! It’s already spent, but it is what it is until MY NEXT MOVE!

Okay. Time to get rolling! You may not hear from me again until after the fully-packed weekend…we’ll see!

Have a wonderful first weekend of 2025!
xox,
GS
