The interviews went well (see previous entry) - one student was ill and could not make it which gave me more time to fill in the forms which will be used as feedback. They are all pretty well trained in how to dress, how to site, how to make eye contact, how to, or not to, use their hands - and it is a joy to meet young women who are just about to start out in life after school.
One of the most interesting was a girl who was very capable, did lots outside school, from a solid academically minded family - she worked hard, but in the first part of her exams did not do well - it came as complete shock - and it looks like it was a wake up call about how to cope with exams and what they are looking for.
Then it was straight on to a wine tasting - four whites and four reds, mainly from South Africa - three from New Zealand - and all were good, and a couple very good. There is something satisfying about that kind of tasting - and plenty left over at the end. I slept well last night.
And there is another tasting this afternoon - a wine appreciation group - so there should be plenty of discussion - hard life ain’t it.
