Hiyah. Yea, I know. I haven’t been here in a while. Every single aspect of my life is in a rut right now. Well, except the fact that I can read again!! It has been almost TWO YEARS since I have read a freakin book!! For an avid book lover and a writer, that is waaaaay too long. I am sure those of you who are as well will understand! My Mom loaned me her tablet, and she has books on Amazon Kindle I guess… lol. I dunno how that all works, but the books are there, and I read them. So far I have only read the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, but that’s more than I was reading! And yea, I liked it. Hehe…
I finally went back to the Neurologist yesterday and saw the actually doctor. So far all I had seen was his PAs. He did NOT look like I thought he would. He was very young, skinny, and just… did not look like a guy whose name is Dr. Bear. LOL. He is gonna start me on the MS drug Rebif. It is an injectable, but the problem with the Copaxone I was on wasn’t that fact, it was the drug itself giving me site reactions, so hopefully this will be better. I had wanted to try the pill Gilenya, but once he said that there was an issue with the eyes being affected on the side effects, I said no way. So, we decided on Rebif. It is an interferon based drug, so I am not sure what all it will do and how well my body will tolerate it. I know that there is a chance it will cause flu-like symptoms for the first week I am on it, but other than that, I haven’t really done much research other than to order some information to be sent to me. I was sent a big information kit before that I ended up throwing away. Now I wish I had kept it! I dunno how long it will take for the insurance or payment for the drug to get sorted out, but I know they are working on it for me. I had to apply to a company to have the Copaxone paid for when I was on that. Otherwise it would have been $1000 a month! I wonder how much Rebif costs? Probably about the same. I also asked that I be put back on the meds I was on when I was seeing them before, the Neurontin and Atarax for itching. I didn’t really like the Neurontin, but Laura did, and since she can’t go to the doctor… yea, you know. You do what ya gotta do in that situation. I will take it occasionally. It just didn’t work as well as I wanted. It DID work a little tho. I also asked him if he could review my file and let me know if I did have a stroke or not. I kinda need to know that. LOL. I feel like I just wrote about this. Hmm.. umm.. yea and he did give me a clearance letter for my surgery. BUT… my doctor didn’t send one over to the surgery scheduler like she said she did! She called me and left a message saying that she had done the letter and to let her know if I needed anything else. But she didn’t say what she did with it! So I dunoo.... I have to get Laura’s tooth problem sorted out so that she can take care of me afterward first! I made her an appt. on the 17th, so hopefully sometime after that it will be taken care of. The Neuro said that it’s possible that surgery could make me go into a relapse, so I definitely want her pain free and well enough to handle that! It’s only fair!
We finally got rid of one of Sookie’s kittens. One of the “turtles”. LOL It was Donnie, “Donatello”, who we were saving for my cousin Maranda. Now, I dunno if yall remember, but she was the one we actually got Sookie from. And that we were so mad at afterward. But… her girls are older now and Donnie is not a helpless baby either. So he will be fine. I trust them. And there will be no getting pregnant because he is a boy. So, yea. They did want Leah, but we lied to them and told them she was gone already! ;)
Well, I guess I should go. Me and Mommy are planning to go to some sort of store soon. Probably Wally World. Until later....
