there’s something to be said
for putting your life out in bags
there’s something to be said
for stacking wood
there’s something to be said
for forgiveness over permission
there’s something to be said
for being a bit misunderstood

there’s something to be said
for avoiding ruined plans
by never having any plans
for laying back
to make a stand
there’s something to be said
for sleeping when we’re dead

there’s something to be said
for letting yourself be lazy
there’s something to be said
for doing something crazy
there’s something to be said
for burning down the past
there’s something to be said
for letting the new things last

I hope
otherwise, oh boy
