J/K, all the pressure! in December 2024

P’s club coach sent us a message saying that the director of the club said no one is booking away games and we could lose our spot in some tourneys. I don’t know if it was directed at us exactly since ours isn’t until April but the info they sent out said we had to book by the 15th. H’s mom said they didn’t push anything until after Holidays last yr but the tourney is at a different convention center this yr? It’s a lot financially right now. They take their 1st monthly payment in 2 days, We have team bonding coming up, booking Vegas and Christmas.. my wallet is crying!
P decided not to send info to friend because Mondays schedule is so iffy, the man wants to stay until Tuesday. That means missing 2 days of school so she’s sure her parents would say no anyway. He’s not into driving at night, which I get but it will be kind of annoying if they lose at 8am and were done.. this shits expensive! I haven’t even told the man we have to pay to get into the games too, lol.

I realize some of these families are in a way higher tax brackets than I, but don’t know how they are booking and paying for 5 or 6 of these out of state tourneys on top of the $6 to $8k they are paying for club. It’s insane the money some parents are willing to and CAN spend!

On that note, Its probably the only “vacation” we’ll be taking for a while anyway..
H’s mom also said they didn’t push everyone staying at the hotel they booked last year either. She’s booked at the Hilton but its through her dad who travels a lot so she said she can cancel if she needs and book at the hotel were at. I just figure since its our first time its just better to stay where everyone else is, and since they have a monorail stop right there, hopefully getting to and from convention center won’t be too bad, especially if the team gets the 8am wave. We’ll see.

The girl from P’s jr high that surprisingly made the team went limping off the court the other night already. P claims she was struggling to keep up and she saw her go down but wasn’t certain if she was hurt or really just wanted a rest. The coach gave them a speech telling them if your going to miss a practice she needs more than 30 min notice. I guess she plans them ahead and that’s a pet peeve. Of course this girl gave 30 min notice the next practice that she wasn’t coming. Its not a good look so far, I am curious how much playing time she’ll get, but we still have about 2.5 weeks until first tourney.

Monday:
The manager that told OR years ago that we will never be able to work from home just texted saying she’s working from home AGAIN today. She does this almost every other or every 3rd Monday. I guess what she meant is WE can’t work from home, but she can. Because of this OR went to get her dog and owner arrived while she was gone. He’s not happy about her leaving, understandably. Years ago OR assumed since manager brings her dog everyday that it was perfectly acceptable to bring hers, except managers dog tried to eat hers. When she first got him she kept trying to bring him in until manager finally was like, can you not because she was having to lock her dog in her office since he kept going after OR’s dog. Managers dog has something against Huskies, it’s weird. He’s cool with most other dogs except OR”s and the company next doors huskies too. Kitchen dude who is a old, skinny feeble dude walks managers dog in the afternoons they ran into neighbors huskies once and it didn’t go well, since he wasn’t strong enough to hold managers dog back. He got knocked down and hurt after the ordeal.
Anywho considering I was already tired and in a Monday mood, today is pissing me off and it just started.
Still have this annoying cough and it kept me up Sat/Sun night. I woke up so tired and just feeling BLAH.
