Lazy Saturday in These Foolish Things

It’s Saturday. It’s already after 10am and I haven’t even gotten out of my jammies. I haven’t even taken the dog for her morning walk! Poor thing!

Update: It’s now 11:00am and I finally took Martini out for her potty, but I still didn’t get out of my jammies. I think it’s going to be a PJ All Day kind of day. It’s cold and rainy and will be drizzly all day. It’s actually POURING now, so I’m glad we got a quick dog walk in just in time! That could have been disastrous.

I spent a good portion of my Friday evening making a giant batch of butternut squash soup. It was my first try with making anything with butternut squash. Very labor-intensive with the peeling and the seeds, but I think it’s going to be worth it. I even cleaned the seeds and roasted them this morning after letting them dry overnight. So yum. This will be my lunch today and I can’t wait to try it (I tasted it last night and it was delicious, but it was only a taste).

I’ll be watching holiday movies and wrapping gifts this afternoon. And maybe even trying a new healthy sugar cookie recipe I found on Pinterest (hopefully, no more Pinterest fails).

What a perfect wintry day today! I’m clearly in my homemaker era this year.
