Late on the evening of November 28th, I began a series of negotiations.
Early in the morning of November 29th, I received a request for time.
On the evening of the 29th, I received some additional feedback and a general statement.
On Saturday the 30th, I received a request for clarification and clarified my position, which was accepted in principle.
As a result, on the afternoon of the 1st of December, I had my first date in a very, very, long time.
In the past, I’d be more interested in documenting it, but I think that doing so probably wouldn’t be a good idea. It seems to personal to put here. It seems like sharing it is somehow demeaning it. The negotiation is something worth noting as it’s amusing in its own right, and it’s probably the kind of thing that would be easy to forget. But as for the rest? If I forget it, then I will either have reason to forget it or, at the very least, no reason to remember. I cannot imagine a first date so pleasant vanishing into nothing unless there were some reason for it to do so.
Of course it’s frightening. And of course I have my doubts. And of course, there are problems and barriers. But I think that this is just the kind of thing that a person has to accept.
