Letting go in Bittersweet

My 20 year old went to visit his girlfriend in California. She bought the tickets. They have bene online and she came to see him last year. So he went to see her.

He just texted us that hes staying. His plane was going to come in at midnight tonight.... 

And just like that. I have to let go. 

The country song, how does 18 years just up and walk away has nothing on heartbreak of letting  your child go and just hoping he is ok. 

Its a big city. Hes on his own. There is no support or backup and I cant help him... Hes just a plane ticket away right. 

I want toddlers back. Anything is easier then this.
