This is my favorite or one of my favorite homes in my neighborhood. I wish this picture did it justice. The christmas lights are always gorgeous blue and white lights.
this house lights are pretty but nothing fancy…
This house always looks enchanting and gorgeous This year her bushes have grown too tall because usually you can get an amazing picture of her teaching a child piano lessons… I love walking by her home and see children learning the piano… makes a classic picture :)
…and then there is my house. kinda classic but nothing amazing like two of those homes are so lovely… both are gorgeous homes before the lighting :)
Jo has two doc appts the end of this week… yes, it is wearing a bit on me but I don’t want her to know… I think a couple of our friends might be able to take her to a few of the appts… before she quits like last time lol

Do you have houses that collect donations and have their homes look something like this and the money gets donated to a charity?

theKat Jodie ⋅ November 20, 2024
no. we are not a gated community so that would be hard to do and not sure anyone would pay to look at them
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
well if the people thought the charity was for a good cause like the Orphans fund or something to do with sick kids they might. We have a lot of houses who donate all the money they get to a charity every year.

people will donate to their favorite charities without doing this. plus no one wants all that traffic thru their peaceful amazing neighborhood
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
Well if there is a place that can handle the traffic then it would eb okay. But then it could also be a "no car" place where people walk to see the lights?
something like this?

theKat Jodie ⋅ November 20, 2024
there are a lot of paper work on things like that plus there are 4 of the christmas light shows in our area two of them have horse carriage rides thru the lights
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
that is cool..Do they raise a lot of money?
theKat Jodie ⋅ November 20, 2024
oh I am sure they do... they go thru parks so it does not bother people. it is like 15 dollars a car. we go thru one every year on Christmas Eve.
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
We don't have to give anything if we don't want to. It's all donations so we can give what we want.
theKat Jodie ⋅ November 20, 2024
too many stingy people would not give then...as it is an excuse to just not pay
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
does the money raised actually go to a chairity?
theKat Jodie ⋅ November 20, 2024
yes, it is professional run.
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 20, 2024
cool
and they get a tax receipt?
theKat Jodie ⋅ November 21, 2024
lmao no clue? it is such a small amount it would not help much on taxes
Jodie theKat ⋅ November 21, 2024
If we give a minum of $25.00 we get a tax receipt
Are donations 100% tax deductible in Canada?
Generally, you can claim part or all of the eligible amount of your gifts, up to the limit of 75% of your net income for the year. If you require information about a gift made in a previous year, you will need the version of Guide P113, Gifts and Income Tax, for the year in which you made your gift.
