Welp
The rest of our furniture arrived; now that they are here, this place feels more lived-in than before. We ended up buying a modular sofa that La Prof thought was going to turn into a sectional - but it turned out its footprint is too large to fit in our living room, so we turned it into a sofa with a chaise and plus a sofa seat.
We are still pulling things out from boxes and finding places for them. At this point we are 95% unpacked. The rest are things we don’t use often anyway, so there is less urgency unpacking them. I have insisted that we inventory where they go, and that has been going slowly, but I am convinced we will regret it if we don’t. I think perhaps half of our possessions have been inventoried.
Unpacking is when we can look at old stuff we had packed away: old calendars, souvenirs, presents from people, so it was nice reminiscing.
I also made sure that my old British passport is still there, because I am more likely to need to use it now than I was a week ago.

Another rehearsal
The amateur musician group will have this year’s Carnegie Hall concert this Saturday. I went to the open rehearsal the weekend before last. I think I was the only one who stayed for the whole time other than the ENT pianist, who organises the thing. It was a bit of a chore. La Professeure is trying to convince me to audition for next year’s concert with the Yellow River Concerto, but I’m not sure I’m up for it.
We are letting the orchestra in the program, so our program now has 3 parts, and longer than usual. On the bright side, the concert is sold out. On the down side, I’m pretty sure our ticket sales won’t cover the rental cost.
I think we figured out how orchestral rehearsal works financially, but the orchestra is still a financial drain.

Summer plans
I’ve been holding off on making summer travel plans until we close the sale of our old house. And now we have a date - we’re closing next week - I can make longer term plans.
I think after having been to Antarctica, we want to go on more eco tourism trips. Cheesedog had invited us to go to Pantanal with him and his boyfriend, and we were thinking about going to the Galapagos or Churchill Manitoba. But, La Professor’s college roommate invited us to go with them to Alaska - her daughter is graduating highschool and this will be her celebration. We’ve been on vacation with them before and liked it, so I hope this works out.
But, her daughter is graduating highschool?!? Where did the time go? You blink, and now Little boo-boo is applying to universities.
