Sunday in Bittersweet

I woke up about 9 today. I decided to forgo the morning shower routine and take one before bed so my hair will be dry for work instead of wet.

I threw in some apple pies, One caramel one not, from the filling I made yesterday.

I blended up about half the pumpkin I steamed yesterday, got me around 11 cups of pureed pumpkin for pies. Ill measure it out in 2 cup increments and freeze for pies all season. YUM.

Browsed facebook for a few minutes and responded to messages. 

Played my dino game for 2 minutes and did a few rounds while blending pumpkin. Did you know pumpkin shreds like spaghetti squash lmao. Its hilarious. 

Pulled out burger to make a shepards pie for dinner. My kids LOVE this one. I make it in my cast iron dutch oven. Yummy! 

Decided to go to FUCKING JOANNS. Yes, still going with THAT one. I need some more yarn to match this one to make the gingerbread house. The house panel itself is done! Woo! Just gotta make the rest of the blanket. I need some red, white and green glitter. 

UGH Joanns dosent open till noon today. Insanity.

I blended the rest of the pumpkin puree. 14 total cups, bagged in 2 cup baggies and frozen.

Pulled the pies out of the oven and covered in foil.

Chopped up the potatoes and carrots for shepards pie. I finely chopped half of the potatoes to mix in. And largely chopped the others to make the mash for the topping.  I dont make it like recipes call for lol. If I did that much burger, we would starve! So I pad it.

The burger im using is the stuff we ground ourselves a few weeks ago when roasts were on sale for 3.99 a lb. Which is cheaper then burger at 4.29. So we got a bunch of roasts and then chicken was also 99 cents that week. So we actually mixed ground burger and ground chicken to stretch the burger some more. its about 80/20 mix. The kids didnt even notice the chicken in it lol.  
I started the potatoes and carrots to simmer seeing it will take a bit to get them soft. And yeah I can do it in the oven when its cooking, But ill also precook some. Im just killing some time at this point.

We left around 11 30. Ran to Sams first seeing I ran out of carrots and potatoes on my pie.  Picked up a few groceries... $400 later. I hate shopping sometimes. 
I did get some ribbon for my christmas tree ( we forgo garland for ribbons) T got a new blanket and they had some cool mixing bowls. Baking tins and zip lock freezer bags were also on sale. Grabbed a few staples that we always use so need more of. All the things lol. 
Finally made it to Joanns. They had some of the Holiday colored yarn I wanted!! 
I brought my gingerbread square and decided I didnt like the pink and green on the background. Despite being named candy cane. It dosent feel as holiday as the other ones I got. Soooo im starting it a third time.

Came home and fried the burger for dinner, chopped mushrooms and got them on the dehydrator. 
Cleaned up my living room, Im looking for my mini rainbow scissors. They are missing and they are my favorite tiny yarn scissors! Threw a bunch of stuff away.  I got the rest of the Halloween stuff together and ready to be packed away. Some of it is fragile so I found boxes to put it in and stored fabric things around it. The other tote is sopping wet, Thank you snow. So I put that in the tub to dry out. May take a couple days. 

I had to unravel a Hat, I need to make pompoms pout of the yarn.

My cat is leaking this funky smell. Its hard to explain. Its potent, not quite pee smell but SOMETHING. I dont know WHAT it is. Its totally him though. Wherever he lays, it smells like that. Im throwing so much in the wash. I read unaltered male cats can have whats called stud tail which is this oily mess above their booty on the tail. And I think its that. He totally has the oily spot and its nasty. Ive shaved it off. But i think that is what is causing the smell. 

Played my game and browsed knit stuff on pinterest. Then I got on Shein and was randomly looking at things there. Really what I do is try to close SOME of my tabs on Chrome and get distracted. 

Got some photos of the hat I knitted tony to put on Ravelry. 
Woo hoo, closed a dozen or so tabs lmao. 
restarted my gingerbread blanket. See if Joanns would have been open YESTERDAY, I would be THAT much farther today! 

finished prepping the shepards pie and t ossed it in the oven. 
Watered my bathroom plants. Debating watering my livingroom plants... 
Browsed my ARC website to see if there were any upcoming books that looked good. I like readings arcs lmao.  Nothing really.

Picked a book on KU. Started reading off and on while re making the center square for the gingerbread blanket. Its 16x16 and im NEARLY done. 

Nearly wrapped up H's wedding portraits and my computer threw a tizzy fit. We had some brownouts earlier which affected our backup servers and my computer went nutso for it. 
Updated the Zillow Listing AGAIN. He wants tiny things changed in an effort to get more applications. 

FINALLY finished the first part of the blanket square!
