Nov. 3-4: I Forgot! in These Foolish Things

I guess I was so busy decompressing from my whole October that I forgot to write yesterday! That’s not like me during NoJoMo, but it’s the reality of the situation.

Hold on a sec…I have to send an email to this company I’m supposed to interview with IN PERSON today. I’ve decided to send them a rejection email - similar to the rejection emails that companies send me. I will simply state that it’s not a fit, and I will not continue the interview process. How do you like them apples? Have you ever sent a rejection letter to a COMPANY? I think this is a first for me (well, besides offer rejections - I’ve done that a couple of times).

I don’t think I told you much about this company, did I? It was the second company that’s reached out to me in a few months. Maybe I’m cocky about this because I currently have a job (though I’m not sure for how long), but this company is a Tech Accessories company. Essentially, they create accessories for mobile phones and other tech devices. They are one of the companies that scrambles to make a new phone case and other products every time a new iphone comes out.

I do like the idea of creating fashion items for tech products. I mean, think about the fact that just about every human in America is walking around with a phone glued to their hand, ya know? But also think about every Chinese company creating the same type shit only cheaper.

First of all, I’ve interviewed with the President several times already. She’s meh. And she seems like she would be a bitch. And the fact of the matter is that she fired the person who was previously in this role, and I can tell that she’s looking for a particular something that is above this pay grade. She’s also one of those people who “doesn’t like titles” and so the role was presented to me by the recruiter as a Director position, and she refers to it as a “Director role, but called a Manager”. Um. NO, bitch. I didn’t work all of these years to be a manager that is doing all of the director work!

And then there was the recruiter who’s been nothing but condescending to me the whole time. Oh yes, I DID write about him. He’s the “did you EVEN send a thank you note?” guy. What a fucker.

Rejection email sent. Done and done.

The other company hasn’t reached out to me and I haven’t reached out to them, so I’m pretty sure I’m done and and done with that company as well.

Meanwhile, my current company has hired a fractional COO, and she’s going to take a look at the innards of my current business and realize how fucked up it is, and I might be out of another job, so it’s time to hit the pavement hard…AGAIN.

I still need to give you details of the rest of the girls weekend. It was so fun and my soul needed it desperately.

But I do need to get to work now. I have to catch up from the last couple of weeks I’ve had with several days off. And I have a meeting with Head Cat today that I’m not really prepared for, so…off we go!
