Happy Halloween! in In the Meadow

I wanted to wish everybody a happy Halloween. The kids had a half day of school today. We are going out trick or treating soon.

Earlier this week, Kayla read a story to a group of younger kids at our church. It was part of a storytime that they do once in a while. The story was about mermaids. Afterward Kayla asked if she could be a mermaid for Halloween. Fortunately this is an easy costume to do. We took a green cloth and made it into an outer covering. Then we added a shell necklace and a crown with shells glued on that says “Queen of the Mermaids,” and she’s good to go. She originally wanted to be a ballet dancer. Dance is very important to her, but I think it’s good that she’s trying new things.
