62 Years Ago, The World Almost Or Could Have Ended in Scott

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the Cuban Missile Crisis. At 69 I have vague memories of it. Mostly emotional. How fear seemed to be everywhere in everyone. I vaguely recall being glued to the TV not fully understanding those whole, “nuclear war” and “End of the World” ideas. Since then there have been a few accidents that could have led to an apocalypse. My nuclear war cherry got busted before I lost my sexual virginity. That whole horror has followed humanity and I ever since. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were just little horror experiments in annihilation. Since that time I have found horror in any fictional media to be blah compared to watching people kind of stoned on the idea that we were all going to die. Only the extremely stupid talked about the great USA beating Russia. I learned early that nobody wins a nuclear war.

Thanks to the level headed on all sides, we are all still here now and those born after COULD be born after those days.

Every day there is talk of nuclear war by the Russians. Their conventional military has been shown to be shit. Nukes are the last resort of the insane.

Another reason why trump must never take power again. The world needs stable minds and peaceful hearts to lead. Love needs to triumph over hate and fear for us all to continue.
