The Bear Song in Current Events

Today was a success. I’m a little choked up about it because it was absolutely wonderful. We had a feasting ceremony with our participants. All but one made it. They brought their families. We had an elder give us teachings. He made them participate. Our boys turned it out for him. He got our boys to feast our drums, then we got to learn how to play together on the big drum. Oaks, our boy with the speech issues took over our elder so he could rest his voice. That was absolutely magical. Andy and I went hard on that drum when that happened. After everybody left, Oaks and his family played on the drum for us while we cleaned up. Stunning. Just stunning. This was everything I wanted when I applied for this job. I wish I could share some of my pictures and videos but I can’t. I’m going to throw together a little something something for our communications director. He may make his own but once it is posted, maybe I’ll be more inclined to share from their socials.
