RANDOM BLURB in Whatever Will Be Will Be

Full entry upcoming, as ever, but… theater… acting… is such a weird experience.

People with Julliard Backgrounds struggling to be more than just “Dude in Commercial”.
Actors like D.B. Woodside with full on MFA degrees from prestigious schools barely able to break out of “recurring character in a sitcom” status.
But then you have things like David Boreanaz. Graduated from Ithaca college… struggled for 5 years to get any solid work. Then, walking his dog one day, a casting director’s friend saw him and called to get him cast as Angel.
Or Scott Wolf, best known for Party of Five, who went to the PO5 audition with a friend who was auditioning and decided he would, too.
Hell, Mark Hamill is absolutely beloved King of the Nerds but… have you seen his Actor Advertisement before Star Wars defined him? And even then… his career in the 1980s? Even into some of the 1990s?

This is a crazy and difficult industry. Very little logic. Desperate need for thick skin. Absolutely necessary to have luck on your side. I love the little acting I’m able to do when I can. I do think if the brain I have now could be in the young man I was 20 years ago… I probably would have given the Acting as Career a lot more effort. I know Hermia persistently says that I could easily do professional voice acting- I just need to get the right recording set up and give it a shot. Meanwhile, or for now, I’m just… hoping I can pull off Ensemble for Beauty and the Beast.
