After getting the tree cut, yard cleaned up and myself and mom cleaned up she decided we should go out to eat instead of cook. We went to Cajun Steamer and I was a bit let down. They’ve changed their menu and raised prices.

The dish I normally get, Voodoo Chicken, was either $13 or $14 originally. One seasoned, grilled breast with a shrimp/crawfish mix served with it. It is now 11.99 for half (literally half a breast) or a full which is now 18.99 (the old portion.) The chicken was heavily seasoned with a spicy Creole mix. It was good but damn it was hot. They no longer serve crawfish étouffée as a side so that was an up charge. That’s fine.

Mom’s catfish basket has gone up a few bucks and they no longer carry sweet potato fries with it. She said the fish tasted off a bit and my side of the étouffée tasted like popcorn, not fish and rice. It was…disappointing. Especially so seeing how we originally decided on Olive Garden but at the last minute she mentioned Steamer and it sounded like a great idea. Usually our bill including tip was $45 to $55. This bill alone was $59 before tip.

I still want my chicken and gnocchi soup with my main dish of Asiago stuffed shells. Oh well.

Prices go up, portions go down and cheaper substitutes are used to kill the once great flavors.

Anyways, thanks to exhaustion, I crashed about 7:30 PM looking for a nice long sleep till at least 5 AM or 6 AM. Nope! Woke up a little after 1 AM.

Yay!

At least I got over six hours, can’t complain.

Speaking of foods…
The other night I tried a Brazilian marinade on some chicken and grilled it. It was good, a bit of a kick to it. I saved the leftovers and just reheated it, put it on a flour tortilla with some cheese and hot sauce and it was delicious!

I’m thinking around 8 or 9 I’ll crash out for a few hours, at least till noon. That’ll tie me over.

No plans today so that’s gonna be a plus.

No real rhyme or reason to this entry, just bored. I’d fire up the PlayStation but my hands hurt.

Ta ta lovelies!
