Caught 50 fish today thanks to guide in Life of a cat mom

I won a fishing trip in a drawing at my old job. After cancelling the trip 2 different times because of car problems we finally made it. We went to sandstone and got on the new river. This man was our guide he taught me how to use a open cast reel and rod. He taught us what type of bait was good for small mouth bass. He showed us the good places to fish between both me and my husband we caught a total of 50 small mouth and large mouth bass. This is the most fish we ever caught in a fishing trip.

Where the water was so low our boat got caught several times on rocks and my husband helped the guide get it out of the rocks. We saw herons,great regret, great blue heron,crows,mallard ducks,Canadian geese, a hawk and ,deer. I really need a pair of binoculars with a camera built in them I could have so many beautiful photos. I think I plan to buy those binoculars.

I caught more fish than my husband but Talan caught the biggest fish. We had so much fun. At one point while I was fishing we hit some white waves and I was almost thrown from our boat. I recorded that little part of our adventure on my phone. I plan to post it on tiktok.

The guide was kind and helpful. My husband and I were talking about arranging another fishing trip on our wedding anniversary. We had so much fun. The guide showed us a small b&b we can stay in by the river for $65 a night.. that’s pretty cool!

We rode 4 miles down the river catching one fish after another. I took several photos of our catches and the environment around the boat. The guide was incredibly kind. He brought drinks,snacks and often helped us. He taught us to be better fishermen. He taught us skills I will happily use during our next fishing trip.

My husband Talan and I went to Covington to visit his mom. We watched NCIS while we took turns playing with Dee’s cats. While Talan and his mom were in the kitchen I was in Talan and my car trying to bag us the garbage in my messy car. Dee’s cats kept catching me cleaning my car popping up looking in the bag and trying to sneak in my car. I love cats they are fun.

After we had dinner with his mom we drove home. Even though my car is 30 years old it took the voyage on like a champ. It was worth the repairs. Today was such a good day. I feel blessed.
