Another Monday, Another Chance! in These Foolish Things

I kind of love Mondays lately.
I have this Monday routine that I enjoy so much. It involves a new workout that I’m excited about. It’s the right kind of hard that gives me the feeling that my body will respond very positively.
Then there’s my new coffee-making process in the French press, and then my “shower coffee” photo where I put a short inspirational quote on a letterboard that I’ve placed on a shelf in my shower and show my coffee mug in with the sign. I know I’ve mentioned that here before, but it’s my little take on the “shower beer” trend where people take selfies of themselves drinking a beer in the shower.
And of course, since I work remotely, I’m usually not stressed out or in a hurry to throw myself into a crazy commute.
In fact, most days I get a really great dog walk in and answer the first emails of the day from my phone while we walk. I also do “my puzzles” - Wordle, Connections, and Strands (all NYT puzzles) and send the results to my college girls. We do this every morning, texting our results and sharing quick stories.
And I can also sit outside on the balcony when the temps aren’t so sweltering and sip the last of my coffee (black for the first cup in the shower, and then later in the morning I add cream, a little honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and ginger…delicious!).
Today at work we had a Monday team meeting and the other kittens have just about talked Kitty Cat into the 4-day work week that has been dangled over our heads since before I joined the company (you remember that was something that was part of my negotiations and then yanked out from under me after I accepted the role). Those girls are gooooood manipulators when they want to be. This might just happen! We just have to get Head Cat to approve, and boom. Fingers crossed!
I do enjoy these easy-breezy days. I’ve never had a job like this and I don’t think I ever will again. I have to make the most of this and bask in it for a while.
And yes, a side hustle is a MUCH bigger thought on my mind now that we may have a 4-day work week for real.
Manifesting…!
Something else I’d like to manifest, and soon: a love life.
My Bumble date canceled on me at the last minute yesterday, so alas, no RAD. We were going to meet for a coffee at 9:30 (his suggested time!), but after I got myself all ready and out the door and in the car to head for the coffee place, I decided to double check the Bumble app just to confirm.
Sure enough, he sent a message telling me he has trouble with sleep. And that he was sorry but he couldn’t make 9:30.
I replied with a “thanks for letting me know” and I truly was happy that he didn’t just stand me up.
But ugggghhh. Come ON.
Mercury is going direct on Wednesday. I can wait that long.
… but it’s TIME. And the timing feels like it’s time.
xo,
GS
