Saturday Volunteer Day in These Foolish Things

Good morning! Got dog to daycare and coffee made and workout done.

Today I’m heading back to the super cool botanical gardens to do my volunteer event for the month. I would have done more volunteering for the thrift organization to help the homeless, but my schedule didn’t work out with their calendar, so I found this fun-sounding event called Dog Days 2024 and folks can bring their dogs to the botanical gardens today for fun and free shit.

Unfortunately, I did not sign up early enough to do the early set-up, so I volunteered for the tear-down in the fucking heat of the day. It starts at noon, and ugh.. I’m dreading it a little bit, but I bet it won’t take too long. I’m going to head down there early (as soon as I finish this entry) to see if maybe I can help early and play with some dogs and do some other things. Hell, I’m free labor, so take advantage of me!

Then Best Bud is going to be in town as she and her hubs are bringing some stuff for her kid who’s going to the university here. I thought they might come over to my place and spend the night. Alas, they are driving in and out. We’re trying to meet up for a late lunch or a snack/coffee or whatever. I’ll be coming in hot (literally sweaty!) from the volunteer thing to meet them, but I don’t care. I just want to say hi and spend some time together!

So I better get a move on!

Life feels really good today for some reason. Has Mercury shifted out of retrograde yet?
