The Talk in These Foolish Things

…turned out to be not much of anything at all. I wasn’t sure where Kitty Cat (CEO) wanted to go with this conversation, so I let her take the lead in most of it in case I wasn’t on the right page with her.

I’m glad I didn’t go to a lot of trouble putting together a presentation or anything. But maybe I should for our next discussion. It wasn’t a discussion of a promotion at all - just some discussion about how responsibilities have shifted around a bit now that my former boss is gone. I’m honestly not taking on that much more than I am already doing, and I’m certainly not stressed out about how much work I’m currently doing, so I couldn’t ask for a new title or more $$$ - yet!

In two months I will have been with the company a year. I think that is an appropriate time to discuss a raise. At the very least, a cost of living adjustment. I also have some ideas about how to kick things up several notches with regards to what I can do for the company. I need to line some things up so I will be armed with all of the goods and details, so I need to get on that!

Meanwhile, I’m going to continue to really search for some consulting gigs (I’m having a convo with someone on Friday) as well as that better gig with much better medical insurance and other benies. Granted, this working from home has gotten me a little spoiled…

Comme ci, comme ca.

Anyway, had a great meeting with Head Cat this morning. He was in a really great mood. I’d heard he was in a super shitty mood earlier in the week, so I’m glad my Monday meeting got moved out to this morning.

Now I’m just not in the mood to scramble, so I think I’m going to pause my workday and head out to Target for a lunch break and then come back and get a few more things done.

Tonight I’m going to meet my new walking group. It’s so freaking hot here, but this group is more of a social outlet than anything else, so we’ll walk for 30 minutes and then go back to our meeting spot (a non-alcoholic bottle shop, so cute!) and drink a couple of mocktails and have a few yuks. Great group of women!

Alright, enough blather for today. More tomorrow, I’m sure. I gotta go back to my prompts and see what I haven’t written about…

xox,
GS
