That class was traumatizing. It’s a tough course anyway, and I took it for a summer semester. I’m still sort of traumatized even though it’s over. I have this sense that there is something I need to be doing, studying, going… I can’t wait for that to wear off. It was a good class though. I enjoyed the info, and I did like my teacher even though he probably had a healthy dose of ADHD. One day, he actually taught the exact class twice. No kidding. It was almost word for word the same lecture. I think he was also going through the shit with us. People can forget that teachers also have their own lives they are juggling while they teach.
I’ll be taking the Fall Semester off. I need to make, and save up some bucks I have been missing out on due to my study time, and ridiculous class lengths. Anatomy is like a full body workout. I actually felt a physiological change in that course. It feels like you are being stretched on one of the torture rack stretching devices. We began with tissues with names like Ciliated Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium, and then to bones, and skull; ethnoid, sphenoid, internal acoustic meatus to the central nervous system, Action Potentials down the myelinated nodes of ranvier to the axon hillock, to the sodium potassium pump, and muscles where myosin binds to troponin after revealing binding sites, and ATP is converted to ADP, to eyes, ears, limbic system, and endocrine system, and a million scientific words in between everything I’ve just mentioned. My brain felt stretched. I’m not kidding. I already have a million literary English words in my head, and science just smacked all those to the side… It’s like learning a new language.
