I live in the Houston area. I am sure you know what’s going on here. Hurricane Beryl did a number on us. The eye came right over and high winds took out trees and electrical lines. It’s a mess. Worst storm since 2008 for our area.
I have lived in Mississippi and Louisiana and Texas for the past 52 years. Never far from the Gulf. You never get used to it. You prepare the best you can and the rest is up to Mother Nature. She can be a real Mother too!
As for us, we lost a fence and the winds blew hard enough to move the air conditioning condenser on its pad. The lid to the hot tub blew off and there is so much debris. Our yard looks like a war zone. We have a whole house natural gas generator. Our day to day hasn’t been impacted. No traffic lights and few places to go, due to the no electricity.
Still I feel out of sorts, somehow unsettled

We didn’t have electricity for 36 hours and we don’t have a generator. It has been a mess!

It’s stressful when extreme weather hits. I am glad you all are safe. I keep telling my husband we need one of those generators. This type of weather is going to only get more frequent as the climate declines. People are wise to prepare.

Glad your day-to-day hasn't been impacted. A whole house generator is a smart idea. We have a little one which will run the sump pump and one fridgerator/freezer and a few other things.
