On Sunday we drove to the other side of Knoxville. It was a great little drive.

The purpose of the trip was to meet my son and grandson.

Fred and his family were in the area for his sisters wedding, so they called me and asked if we could all meet. They were willing to travel here, but I suggested we drive to them to allow more time together.

It was great to see them!

This was the first time I have met my grandson Hayden and he is ten years old. He is a handsome young lad and very well behaved and spoken. It was so funny as he must have been planning this the whole trip as his Dad prodded him on to ask what to call me. I told him he can call me Grandpa, Dwayne, anything but late to a meal! Hayden cracked up! He did say I look like Santa Clause.

Moriah is a wonderful girl who really loves Fred, they are a great couple and Moriah has a lovely and sweet daughter Amber.

And most importantly, Debbie likes them all.

After we had lunch at Cracker Barrel we all talked for hours. We swapped tales of our lives and tried catching up.

Finally it was time to say good bye for now. I was in tears as Fred said “good bye Dad, I love you”. I told him I loved him and I held Hayden and said “I love you Grandson”.

It feels good to finally have my family.

Debbie and her mom are now planning on getting them all down here for Thanksgiving!!!

I am blessed as my grandson and son love me unconditionally.

This feels good!
