Hey guys! As you can see it’s been a super long time since I have written. I will be writing about moving day/days.

On June 2, My dad picked up the Uhaul truck in IL and I hired movers to come load up all my crap. Some of these boxes, I haven’t seen since 2019 since I moved out of B and K’s house back in 2019. Moving went smoothly. Uhaul scared my parents the night before and called me to say that the truck I was supposed to be using the following day wasn’t starting. But worst case scenario, in the morning a new one would be sent out and they would call me if that had to happen. I woke up with no phone call so all was good.

The following morning, June 3rd, we woke up at 3am and left at 4am to leave for the drive to TN. Dad was driving the Uhaul and mom and I followed in the car. I met a woman from Clayton homes at the property to get my keys and we just set up the beds and relaxed..

June 4th was unload day, I hired movers here in TN to unload my stuff. I didn’t have as much as I thought I had. We were mostly putting things into my 3rd bedroom and closing the door, so that they could go through them later. Mom took care of lining my cabinets and making dinners, and dad did all sorts of things outside as well as getting stuff done inside that I couldn’t do myself. I went to the DMV and got my license and registration taken care of because my car’s plates were expired and it needed to be done anyway. My car still looks strange with another state’s plate on it now.

June 5th was the bonus fam moving day. Dad drove over the truck to the rental house and they loaded it with their large furniture… couch, washer dryer, and we shoved as much as possible into my car and the truck. It at least waited until the couch was in the truck to start pouring rain. I followed dad back to the house in my car which I hadn’t seen since March. That mostly went pretty well except hooking their washer dryer back up to the new house was a pain in the ass. We discovered we needed a new cord for that. We also discovered that amazon takes 2-4 days to deliver out here even with prime. Not the biggest deal in the world but when you need something that the surrounding hardware stores didn’t have in stock or didn’t seem to hear of, it can get annoying.

The only bad thing that really happened was mom had a pyrex casserole dish explode because we put it on the stove top. This is a no no with the newer pyrex but not the old. We could have all been seriously hurt because the glass went everywhere. She asked me to look it up and we were doing 53975324 things so I didn’t get to it. So it was mostly my fault lol. The other saving grace was that all of us wear glasses so our eyes were protected. And by some other miracle no one really even got cut. Dad and I had to take the stove out and clean behind there. One or all of us could have gotten seriously hurt.

Dad got to work on installing our double mailbox and had the kids helping. It turned into a huge family ordeal with us all outside.... digging the hole, leveling the post, etc. He worked really hard doing that and it looks amazing.

Our view from across the street is amazing. We are in awe every single day. Sometimes the cows come up really close to the fence. And sometimes they’re in the distance. It’s extremely picturesque, like a postcard.
