We know I do not subscribe to baseless superstitious medical beliefs that make us act against our best interests. Disease is not caught, it is not possession, it is created. The recipe is toxic waste and nutritional deficiencies. Disease category complicates the picture. My ADHD is a dopamine deficiency.
I found a Harvard psychiatrist, Dr. Chris Palmer that has a more holistic view when it comes to these DSM-5 disorders. The brain has a metabolism that is affected by diets & lifestyles. Confirmation bias? Yes. Terrain theory just works. I’ll explore more of his work. I’m relieved because this does not feel like a life sentence with that understanding.
I’m already on the right track. I am on an intense elimination diet with my NP doctor. I’m not 100% committed as I refuse to give up nightshade fruits & vegetables. A) I cook with tomatoes daily. B) If my food is not burning my face off, am I even eating? We are trying to discover my food sensitivities so I think I will find a way to be more committed. I’m curious to see if it affects those symptoms as well.
All of my symptoms got worse shortly after this restricted diet. My ADHD symptoms as well. I did not know that I had that disorder. I don’t have school in my way so I can regroup. The only symptom that improved was the bloating. My god, I never thought that was even possible. I am using digestive aids at the moment to train my body to produce more stomach acids. I’ve never had heartburn and I’ve never thrown up. The critically low acid levels are probably why.
I should be proud of how high-functioning I am with all these mental disorders. It all ties into ADHD and knowing that is half the solution. I’m not at a point where I can auto-inflate my own ego yet, however.
