There is the most wonderful storm going on outside.
Thunder, lightening, the works.
Well, there was the most wonderful storm going on. Stupid Kansas and its short storms. I swear, the build up to the storms here is great but the actual rain only last a few minutes.

Ive been going back and forth about writing about the below subject. Im still a little jaded from being attacked by the trolls last year, hence the lack of writing. BUT, here I am, in my space. This place helps my head and thats what I use it for. So…thats that.
* Oh wow, its hailing now. Pea sized hail. Cool. *

I have never been so happy to see a Sunday before. This was my first weekend not on call in two weeks and it…sucked.
Dana was / is in jail this weekend. I can go pick him up at 6:30 this evening. It was only for 48 hours, but it seems like a lifetime to me. I can even IMAGINE how he has been feeling. Stuck in a jail cell, eating bologna sandwiches for supper. How can they even call that a supper?! How can someone feed a grown ass man a bologna sandwich and expect that to tide him over until the next morning? That doesnt even fill a childs belly up, let alone a 53 year old, 6‘8 tall grown man.

So, what did he do to land himself in jail?
Sigh. Here it is.
Last October he was stopped and charged with a DUI. It was his third.
We went to the annual demo derby and things got a bit out of hand. We have been going back and forth with the court since then. In April he moved here to “do his time.”
48 hours in jail, 30 days on an ankle monitor, and 2 years probation. 2 years with no alcohol. Um…ok. We are hoping he can get off early.

We got to the courthouse at 6:30 Friday evening. It was no surprise that the sheriffs office had zero paperwork on him. Hell, he wasnt even served papers until four months after he started going to court. It took close to an hour to get the paperwork situated.

Is this the part in the entry where we talk about the dangers of drinking and driving? About how when I was 5 years old, I almost lost my entire family because of a drunk driver in an eighteen wheeler? About how I have spent my entire life speaking out against drinking and driving? About how now I am a hypocrite because it was Dana and it “really wasnt that bad”?

Nope.
What he did was wrong and it really WAS that bad.
Dangerous lapse in judegment.
BUT, I am not here to debate or defend.
It happened, thank goodness no one was hurt, and its time to live with the consequences.

I tried talking to Jen about this situation. True to Jen-Fashion, she just shrugged off my feelings. “Oh my gawd, yall are together like 24 / 7. Some time apart will do you good.”
What? I like being with him. If she was in the same situation, she would be appalled if I said something like that to her.
Apart? We have just spent 6 months apart. Call me crazy but, if he is here, I want to be with him. I do not feel bad about this.

Ive spent the morning cleaning and doing laundry. I have 20 clove chicken in the crock pot right now. It smells amazing…and so do my fingers. Haha.

There are work things I want to write about but for now, I need to find some kind of food that wont upset my tummy.
