Putin's Russia? Stalin's Russia? Xi's China? (18) in Whatever Will Be Will Be

One of the things I was always told about America and Free Speech is that, “Isn’t it wonderful that we live in a country where you can criticize the President, make fun of the President, and not worry about being arrested or executed.” Honestly- that always seemed like an exceptionally low bar for what made America great. Frankly, the two significant “We’re better than Russia, we’re better than China” concepts all revolved around free speech in both
(1) We live in a country where you can criticize the President, make fun of the President, and not worry about being arrested or executed; and
(2) We live in a country where you can read any book you want to, and they can’t arrest you or put you in jail just for reading a book!

Horrifically, they started with undoing Number 2 first. We even had so-called “serious politicians” reading books on Capitol Hill with disgust calling them pornography available to children. Well… if a 7 year old knowing that there are Same Sex Couples in the world is pornography? Maybe you’re the asshole who is in the wrong. And… if a 17 year old is considered a child that should be spared any information about sex or sexual things? You’re definitely the asshole who is in the wrong. BUT these are fights we lost in the MAGA America Era. A child learning about a REAL LIFE GAY PENGUIN COUPLE RAISING AN ABANDONED CHICK is pornography and any school that allows that book to be read by anyone is guilty of a crime. BUT REMEMBER- IT IS THE WOKE LEFTISTS ATTACKING FREE SPEECH /s

And now, there has been a significant step to attack Number 1 on that list above. We all know Trump is the thinnest skinned human being to ever hold office… he never attended a Correspondent’s Dinner while in office because he was so upset about “people in the corrupt media mocking” him. Something he would tweet about obsessively all four years. Colbert, SNL, and both Jimmys hadn’t been tagged in so many tweets until Trump’s tantrums! We know every time the media would even just QUOTE HIS OWN WORDS BACK AT HIM, he would call them “nasty” and go on a rant about how the media were “the enemy of the people.” So… one thin fucking skinned orange toddler throwing tantrums when even objective facts made him feel like he wasn’t being “appropriately appreciated” and worshipped.
In the insanity of the fucking current House of Representatives… who this year have significantly proven that they are unserious people, stoking chaos, and giving power to Trump’s favorites who cannot govern nor act like an adult for a full 48 hours.... in the midst of all that bullshit… we have what went on with Jim McGovern today.
