I just composed an entry and spent about 30 minutes on it and all of a sudden unbeknownst to me my entry disappeared. So now I will have to give my readers a condensed version.
My computer is a little sensitive and ornery so I will have to pay more attention to my keyboard. Wish me luck I don't want to have to write this over again and again.
My husband likes to go duck hunting every year with his son, keven. I don't mind if he goes hunting. I would rather stay in my nice cozy & warm bed and keep the home fires burning. I always like to have a day for myself.
but.
This year my husband decided to go hunting and included my stepson and his girlfriend to come along. This changes everything for me. I felt obligated to go now to keep the girlfriend company. We both don't want to kill any ducks or shoot a gun.
So we awake at zero dark thirty in the morning. I have never been up this early before. I got all my stuff prepared the day before, and yes I was a girl scout. I still have my scout books. Of course their vintage now.
Anyways, we all headed out in two trucks and drove from Western Washington to Eastern Washington about a couple hours of drive time to Moses Lake, WA our destination.
We had my two dogs and My stepson's dog too in the back of the truck. They were sure excited to get out and go- go- go! The dogs were so happy to be out and about with their noses to the ground tracking scents.
The hunting place had very tall reeds and lots of bushes, marshes, and ponds. Perfect place for duck hunting. I made sure my husband had his hunting license. I don't what him to get into in trouble with the game warren
My husband helped me to get dressed in my camo. One good thing about camo is that it keeps you super warm. I get very cold easily due to my hypothyroidism. Underneath the camo I dressed in two layers of clothing .
We arrived at the sight about 5:00am. I was so excited to be there and I started collecting parts of sage bushes, flowers, pussy willows. I love being outside- the air felt so good. OMG the sunrise was so beautiful. I took lots of pictures.
My stepson's girlfriend was certainly never a girl scout. She wore her uggs (not sure how to spell that) Anyways she just stayed with her boyfriend. Didn't talk to me very much and we didn't have very much in common. She is 17 and I'm almost fifty. So I don't blame her.
We walked and walked and walked, I swear we must have walked 15 miles in the brush. But I was enjoying myself immensely being out in nature it is my
medicine. I took lots of pictures!
I was really happy that the guys missed the shots to kill the ducks that were flying above us. I don't like to see any animal killed including insects. I knew that it would be just a matter of time before for the first kill would occur.
I continued to gather my flowers and things and then heard gun shots. I looked up and the duck just missed being killed. YOU GO DUCK!--YOU'RE ROCK'N IT
The boys eventually shot a duck, but then when the ducky went down, the boys were unable to find the duck that was now down. WHAT A WASTE.
I FEEL BAD FOR THE TWO DUCKS
