Day Trip Postponed! in BAH HUMBUG!

Today, 29th April 2024 is my 59th birthday. A few days ago hubby and I had decided to take today off work … we’re f/t self-employed business owners … and jump on either the train or bus somewhere for the day, find a cafe for Full English Breakfasts, do a bit of shopping and sightseeing.

On the 25th hubby started feeling a bit queasy with a thick headache then by the 27/28th he’d been taken ill with a vomiting and diarrhea bug. The poor man had about 15 minutes sleep then was dashing back to the bathroom again for 2 days and nights in a row. He couldn’t hold down anything other than cold water and he lost a bit of weight, hugging hot water bottles even when he was boiling hot and didn’t know where to put himself + lack of sleep didn’t help, he was utterly exhausted.

Yesterday morning I went to our local Spar for a pack of Gaviscon tablets for him and the lady on the till told me her hubby had it for 4 days/nights in a row.

Hubby is feeling better today and managing to hold down other liquids so we’ve decided to open shop today and do our day off next week.

He was very brave and brilliant and our little cat acted as his doctor by snuggling into him, singing to him and kissing him too!
