Outward Tide in Today

You don’t feel it at first, unless you pay attention or notice things.
The shifting tide, as it goes from push to pull.
It starts slowly, so slowly, picking up speed.
Yet its movement is deceptive.
It draws downstream so quickly that you turn around and objects are nearly out of sight.
A boat which has loosed it’s ropes and left its slip could be silently gone until it disappeared over the horizon.
You’d never see it go.
