Gray (A Poem) in My Musings

(1)
I take a look outside
With my eyes open wide
Why do I feel this way
Everything seems so gray

(2)
I try to comprehend
And try hard to pretend
That all of these make sense
All the while feeling tense

(3)
Then I remembered us
Our dates that flew so fast
Plans were made, also shared
We were always prepared

(4)
It suddenly hit me
That we’re not meant to be
But just why, on that day?
Now everything’s turned gray
