Cyber Dissonance in A transparent lockbox

The experiences that get to me the most are the ones where you are made to feel stupid for being nice or kind. I always try to be understanding and empathetic, I want people to feel comfortable while talking to me, and if someone ever needs help or support I want it known that I’m here. There seems to be a giant dissonance regarding being kind in the realm of phones and social media. You try to chat with people, and they get sick of you asking questions about them. There is the tendency to be far more awful online than you would ever be in person which I think is really quite revealing. How rude will you be when you think you are untouchable? These are the same people who would let power go right to their heads like in the Stanford prison experiment. There is a grand deficit in being understanding, and when you are you are often called names or disrespected if you try to learn about different perspectives. People just don’t seem to like when you are kind to them online whether on social media or dating apps, it’s odd.
