Good news and bad news in In the Kingdom of Suzu

First of all I want to thank you all for the words of support and encouragement, you have no idea how much that has meant to me.

Saw the surgeon today and the good news is that I have dcis, but the bad news is that the areas affected—which are two----are located too far apart to do a lumpectomy. To be on the safe side, the surgeon scheduled me for a breast mri which will include the left one. She also scheduled me for a lymph node diagnostic to help her see that it is just in situ and not invasive. I will get the blood test Saturday, meet with a plastic surgeon and have an Mir next Wednesday and then the following Monday, see the surgeon again to set up surgery.

It has all happened really fast, not because of any sense of urgency but rather things just fell into place with appointments.

How do i feel about all this? Do not really know—what is is and I need to deal with it. In the past, I always thought if I had to go thru something like this, I would not do the reconstruction, but now that i am in the situation, i am thinking differently. Besides, as my mom used to say I come from good Ukrainian stock-----at least half of me! Besides, I will be able to say that one breast is real and the other is spectacular to quote a Seinfeld episode!
