Waiting on results of a breast biopsy I had done on Friday. Had a mammo a couple of weeks ago and the film showed some calcification in the right breast. Had to have a biopsy where you lay on your stomach on a table with a hole cut out for you to place the breast in question in. They numb and take pix and a needle biopsy and then put these metal clips in as markers for if you would need further work done. It wasn’t too bad except for having to lay perfectly still in one spot for a period of time. They should have the results in less than a week. I feel ok with it as 99 times it does not mean anything bad just that there was some change in breast density.
Am also waiting to see an orthopedic dr concerning my right knee. For about two months I am dealing with knee pain severe enough that I can not go up or down stairs in a normal way. Have had an x-Ray and no tears are seen just some arthritis but the prescribed ways of taking Motrin, Tylenol are not helping at all. Tried to get the dr to schedule an MRI but he said they were almost impossible to get. I am thinking I have to see a specialist first, do therapy and then they will schedule an MRI. I have the ortho appointment in about 2 weeks and it is not with the doctor that my family dr referred me to as they never called me! I am going to see another dr that was suggested to me who only treats for knees, ankles and feet.
I turned 60 about a month ago and it wasn’t really bothering me especially since several people had just told me I did not look it—even on Friday when I was checking in for the biop the receptionist commented on how young I look so this thing with my knee is making me cranky!
I am going to try a anti-inflammatory diet to see if that helps and I am being faithful with my supplements—plus I am trying to lose weight and exercise but walking hurts too much. Oddly enough, when I do the elliptical, my knee does not hurt—less stress I think. Sure do hope my body starts feeling less like my age as my mind does!
