apartment living in rants

NYC promotes itself as “the city that never sleeps” - many young people from around the country… yes, from around the world… come here expecting that to be true.

I’ve had MAJOR issues with upstairs neighbors… none, lately, and quite thankful for that. My next door neighbors had a party tonight. Better said, are STILL, at 4:30 a.m. having a party. Complete with spill over into the hallway - outside MY apartment door - my bedroom is right inside… It sounded like… and smelled like a BAR!

At around 3:30, the whooping and hollering began… complete with the stomping of the feet. By that time I was in my living room at the computer, so I could hear the party better. OMG!!! I am glad I am neither the upstairs nor the downstairs neighbor of these folks!

I am used to waking up and staying awake for a few hours in the middle of the night, but I can’t imagine what it must be like to be woken up to a multitude of feet stomping on my ceiling… wait, I can image, it’s happened to me also, just not this night.

So, if you’re coming to live in an apartment for the first time - it’s NOT a club, you DO have neighbors, and they probably will NOT appreciate the lack of sleep.
