Rough Days in Still Listening to Spirit

Things are not going all that well. I am alive and still fighting, trying, learning and sometimes just plain laughing at myself.

Alarming glucose readings baffled and discouraged me for about a week. I finally figured out yesterday, October 1, what the hell was going on and I had to smack my forehead, HARD.

I have these long assed needles, a change from the very short ones I began with. I did the usual, jammed the needle all the way into he bottle of insulin, ejected air and drew the 10 of insulin I needed. I then injected and that was it. Done for the day.

My glucose kept going up–181, 254, 192, a puzzlement.

Then yesterday, I did the same, this time noticing the level of the insulin in the bottle. DUH, I ws sticking the needle in all the way and into air, not insulin!!! So, I wasn’t injecting any insulin for that week or so.

Yesterday and today I have very carefully stuck the needle in only as far as the liquid covers it. Readings back in the 130 range. Sweet.

Today I went to the clinic, worked in at 4:30p with Carol because Lynne is out for a month on vacation. The panic/anxiety attacks have increased in intensity and frequency–only at night–I can’t seem to work my way out of them. Awake all night, in pain, not a good way to spend my time.

Carol did listen carefully, had a sheet to fill out to measure my stress level, and decided to add 5mg of a very mild tranquilizer I have used previously (last year) to help me with this. Thank you Universe, I have my hope back.

I also got my free flu shot while I was there. They had a free shot Wednesday between 3pm and 5pm, but Bill and I didn’t go. They have enough for everyone and suggest it to everyone who sees them for any other reason. Or one can still walk in and request one without an appointment.

Unusual day/night last week. We had a 2.6 earthquake about 4:45a, yes I was awake. Then about 9am we had a thunderstorm. Thunderstorms are very rare here and I was asleep. Bill told me it was a good one and I am sorry I missed it.

Done here, all about health again. I am walking on treadmill 15 to 20 minutes a day. It is all good. Blessed be!
