The last few days have brought on the feel of autumn, each day feeling of cool evening is more pronounced and after dark a mist rolled into the valley; standing with Ziggy I looked round and all I could see a few faint patches of light – from the houses across the valley. It is the weather of cinema horror films, or spies using the cover, a landscape with limits as we wonder what is just out of sight!

These days began dull and slowly brighten up as midday nears, and the cool gives way to the warmth of the days of an Indian Summer, each day like this putting back the colder days. In Truro this week there were sine’s Christmas, the cards have been about a while now the Advent Calendars are there also, a difficult time for the shops! Christmas is the biggy, but there is Halloween and Bonfire night to fit in.

In our house Halloween is not a regular event, Sweetheart and I had grownup before it had pushed in to our calendars, bonfire night or Guy Fawkes night was a fixed event and we lit up the skies with – well some ones fire works! I prefer Bonfire Night over Guy Fawkes night, not being happy to celebrate gruesome events. The Guy Fawkes masks are a statement now, a sort of remember remember in reverse …….

Our dull misty morn did warm up, but still a little hazy with a close sticky warmth afternoon, but we shall have a cool dusk and cold a little latter …………………
