Accomplishment, eh? in A small but passable life.

Done. Done. Done! I finished the last book of the “Wheel of Time” series by Robert Jordan today. Fourteen books. Well, fifteen counting the intro volume. Over one million words. I still need to look in my other notebooks to see when I first started the series. I’m curious.

Jassy and I went to a flea market last week. It was one we hadn’t been to before. It took us three hours to go through this one. She bought me a wooden cane like I’ve been wanting. Just your basic stick, curved into the loop thingy on top. It was a whole $6. She also bought me a new drinking glass for $1. A really nice heavy cobalt blue. I’d say 12oz. I haven’t measured it yet. That’s my third drinking glass in about ten years. Maybe longer. My first one that Nancy at work had got me for X-mas one year and that I had for years, got broke when the table was blown out of the campsite on the river one night by a thunderstorm when Francilynn and I were staying out there. It was a real nice heavy Coca-cola glass with a handle. I replaced it with a heavy glass for a dollar from Walmart. That one got busted when I knocked over a milk crate containing my camp kitchen when I was moving from one storage unit to another. I also broke my bowl and one of my three coffee cups. That was about three years ago. I’ve just been using my coffee cup since that happened. I still haven’t replaced the bowl. Jassy still has her green one. Mine was yellow.

Jassy was fired from Dollar Tree last week. It’s too stupid to even talk about. She’s still working with the manager Kevin to somehow override corporate to somehow prove her point and the stupidity of the auditor. Crazy, stupid shit.

We bought a fuel filter for the van. I installed it in about ten minutes. The van ran almost perfectly afterwards. We took it and filled it up with gasoline. $60. 20 gallons to mix with the 13 already in the tank. It ran a little better. And of course, now that she’s not working, we don’t need to drive it. Oh well, at least we have it in reserve if needed.

I’m really liking the van cleaned out and clutter free. Especially now that it’s cool enough to spend the days out there reading. I have nothing onboard except for my bedding, my sleep clothes (for whenever it cools off a bit more), my water bottle, and my pee bottle. Oh yeah, and my atomic clock/thermometer.

I go up to Jassy’s apartment for cereal and coffee in the morning and then disappear for the day. I come back for dinner in the evening time. And then I disappear for the evening. I do dishes when they need washing. I cook or help Jassy cook when she asks. I take Liam out for walks when he can convince me he won’t act like a rabid beast. He’s usually pretty good except for his constant hurry-up bullshit. I think he’d make a good lead dog on a sled team. He just has to go, go, go.

I’ve found two books on Jassy’s bookshelf I haven’t read yet so I’ll be cruising through those next.

I still haven’t decided if I’m going out to the woods yet. Undecided.
