Religion and love in the valley - pics in blackpropaganda

Some more pics - first a wooden church built in 1759 and still going strong -

and inside the rough hewn wooden pews - and the hat stands in the background carved from branches - this was a simple, solid religion in a valley which was cut off from much of the world

and the river in the valley came from the glacier far up in the mountains with the beautiful blue-green colour coming from from the rocks.

And a lovely picture by a Norwegian artist who is much revered in the country - Nikolai Astrup - it is called Cowshed Courting - I love it

I guess a lot of this went on in the valley!!!!!!
