The last time a full fledged hurricane hit San Diego was iin 1858. This time the experts are predicting Hurricane Norbert to be downgraded to a tropical storm before it reaches us.

Still, tropical storm level winds can move things around. I’ll nail down the deck furniture….metaphorically speaking, and move the plants to a sheltered spot. I don’t think we need the umbrella up either. Before we do that, we need to go to a Chevy dealer. I yanked on Grumpy’s emergency brake release yesterday, and it came off in my hand. This is the second one. I was left asking why GM engineers used plastic parts in high stress/high use areas.

Until then, you can watch all of us San Diego bloggers on the weather channel.

  • Himself: Wants a hair cut. Buy brake cable, get our local mechanic to give us a day to fix it, lunch go to work at the museum.

  • Herself: Need to buy black sandals. Mine are reaching their sad end. Following G around till we get to two or three shoe stores….hopefully not Nordies.

  • Reading: “City Room” by Gelb. Very well written by a master.

  • Balance: Staying cool.
