Just rewatching into the Dalek and something clued to me. It seems impossible. Dinosaur in London. Impossible. Good Dalek. Impossible. This week the Doctor is meeting Robin Hood. Impossible. Lady claims to be the Doctors girlfriend in heaven and both the robot in the first episode and Journey Blue in the last episode have gone there. Many flavours of impossible.
What did this say to me? Nothing. I thought it was sloppy writing. Until I heard this line
shortly after being miniaturised
Clara: I can’t believe this.
Doctor: Neither can I.
Now, at the time I thought he meant the fact he was about to go into a Dalek but now I’m thinking the shot lasted too long. It focused on the Doctor as if they’re going to use it as a cut-away. Which they do for reveals. Which means the Doctor not believing things is important.
What if it’s not real. What if what the Doctor is disbelieving isn’t the Dalek. It’s everything. Something happened in the time vortex and now they’re somewhere else.
As soon as I thought that my mind was cast back to the Matrix from the Tom Baker episode “The Deadly Assassin”.
I’m probably wrong. It was probably just sloppy writing. But all of a sudden I’m hoping, just a little, that I’m right on this. Because if I am then this is going to be.... spectacular!
